About Houdini… The Unveiling
Harry Houdini’s name is synonymous with ‘magic’ and ‘mystery’. Twenty-six years ago, London Theater Works presented “The Great Houdini”. The play achieved a successful 5-week run at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood, CA. It was well received by packed audiences and garnered excellent reviews from more than a dozen local critics and media outlets. Highlights of the show were televised on ‘Extra’, and praised by such Hollywood notables as Ray Stark, David Crane, and Marta Kaufman.
In this current adaptation of the play, entitled, “Houdini: The Unveiling”, Houdini's “ghost” faces his ultimate and final challenge to reconnect with his beloved, deceased mother in the afterlife shortly following his own death. But, he can only accomplish this through a journey of the spirit with a misguided adolescent. Both characters learn from each other, and evolve through a passionate, poignant, and revealing encounter; one that will forever change them both.
Testimonials
“We offer congratulations to you on a very well-written work. We feel that because of the manner in which you tell the story, it would have a broad appeal not that it would just interest magicians or lovers of magic.”
